| BOYNTON BEACH- Family and friends of 22-year-old Raymond Herisse gathered at New Alliance Haitian Church in Boynton Beach.
Herisse was shot and killed by police in Miami Beach on Memorial Day. The shooting was captured on video.
Attendants said, "It's so hard to say goodbye," and remembered the man as friendly and funny, close to his mother and family.
But police say in Miami Beach Herisse had ignored officers when they tried to pull him over, and then hit four officers when driving off.
Video of the police shooting Herisse was recorded by a local man on his cell phone.
Narces Benoit of Riviera Beach shot the controversial video. The footage shows officers surrounding Herisse, at one point apparently pointing a gun at him.
Benoit says, "One of the officers jumped in the truck, put a pistol to my head. By that time, I was on the floor. My phone was smashed. He stepped on it. Handcuffed me, went and grabbed my phone, put it back together, saying you want to be an f-ing paparazzi?? And put it back in my pocket."
Police say they gave the phone back in working order with only minor damage to the corner of the LCD screen. Benoit and his girlfriend say they have hired a lawyer.
